Summer is our favorite time of the year! There is so much to do and it’s such a wonderful time spent with family and friends. As part of your summer plans, do you have a little one with a birthday? Here are some super fun birthday party ideas (that can be adapted for all ages) that we think you will love!
Smore’s station
No typical birthday cake here! Make the party s’more fun with chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows. Set up a table with everything the guests need to create the ultimate s’more. We love having several options available such as sprinkles, various chocolate candies such as Reece’s, Snickers, Milky Way, Mr. Goodbar, etc. Feel free to add some other fun ingredients such as fruits to the table offering as well! Get ready for some fun creations!
Movie Marathon
If you have the space and ability, rent a projector for your backyard! Take a white bed sheet and hang it on a flat outdoor surface such as the side of your house, off your deck or against a fence and project the movie up onto the sheet. Set up a snack and drink table or tent for the guests to have all kinds of yummy goodies during their movie watching. You can find cute little popcorn or snack buckets for them to fill up and have a drink station ready for quenching the thirst. As soon as the sun starts to go down, it’s lights, camera, action!
Splash Bash
If your little one’s birthday is in the heat of the summer, a splash bash is so much fun! Set up your own backyard water park full of kiddie swimming pools, water tables, water sprinklers, water balloons and all the things that will keep the kiddos nice and cool. We love having a recharge station filled with drinks and snacks to keep the kiddos going during the hot day at the party. Get creative and make some fun drinks and foods such as pineapple donuts, blue lagoon juice, etc. (Source: Etsy)
Science
This birthday party idea might be our favorite! Entertain those curious minds with hands-on science experiments! Be sure to get each guest their very own lab coat and goggles for protection and gather all the supplies to make some fun experiments. Do a search on the web for kid friendly science experiments and get ready to have some fun. Be sure to write the science experiments down in a lab book for each kiddo to take home with them and recreate on their own.
Around Town
Little one’s love pretending to be adults so why not bring the “town” to them! Think of it as a children’s museum at your house! Set up “stations” around your backyard where the children can take part in pretending activities they find around their town or community. Create a station for the vet, beauty salon, coffee shop, hospital, grocery store, daycare center, bank, restaurant, etc. Find toys and games from around your house to create the stations. The birthday child deserves to be celebrated with family, friends, and lots of fun! We have found some unique and creative gifts that are perfect for that special birthday.
These books will make a fun addition to the birthday child’s book shelf all year round. What a special way to remember their special day. Our current favorites are this “Little Birthday Board Book” filled with rhymes and riddles that the birthday child has to solve (but don’t worry, the answers are on the page for them to find). We also are really enjoying this book called You’re A Star”. It’s an encouraging and uplifting book about finding your special place in the world and we love gifting it for all the special occasions such as birthdays!
